According to GOST, there are several classifications of personal protective equipment. We will highlight the main ones and explain their types.
Isolating suits.
These include waterproof suits, pneumosuits, and spacesuits, which are designed to ensure the safety of employees working in areas with elevated radiation levels and at low temperatures.
Respiratory PPE
includes fabric masks, headbands, gas masks, respirators, and so on. They can be divided into filtering and isolating. Isolating masks are used to protect against harmful substances present in high concentrations in the air.
Workwear
includes protective clothing against the cold, including raincoats, suits, capes, jackets, vests, etc. Almost all work uniforms worn by employees are considered workwear. Workwear can be categorized as protective against mechanical impacts, temperature, electric shock, radiation, X-rays, toxins, petroleum products, and so on. There are countless such classifications.
Foot protection:
Specialized footwear is used to protect feet, which, like workwear, protects the wearer from all of the above factors.
Hand protection:
Mittens, gloves, finger cots, palm protectors, etc. are typically produced to protect employees' hands from harmful substances or various industrial situations.
Head protection:
Helmets, hard hats, and caps are all forms of head protection for employees. Helmet colors vary and are used depending on the employee's profession. A balaclava is often used to provide additional insulation.
Eye and face protection
: Safety glasses are used for eye and face protection. Face protection includes masks or face shields with a special window that protects the eyes and ensures visibility.
Hearing protection
comes in three types: earmuffs, which cover the outer ear; earplugs, or earplugs, which fit into the external auditory canal; and noise-canceling helmets, which cover the top of the head and the outer ear.
